FORGOTTEN

No one remembers

how to found a town.

Who traces the site of outdoors,

who the flight lines of the birds?
And the house,

the house is different now, what was a house like?

And who is the mourner for the blood,

who its healer?

No one remembers any longer how day is prepared,
how the light turns on, what the embers are like
of the night's coal.

Who will be in charge of the storms,
who sheltered by the fire?

And who will pronounce the spells?

Who will wake the morning so it will be truly

morning?
We no longer know how to summon the light and how
to undo the traps of death;
who will go among things distinguishing poisonous
and edible?
Who will be the wind's switchtender?
And who then will fabricate water?
Does someone remember how to make water?

The twitter all the secret out to every lad and lass- to all the people swarming by, that spring has come to pass.

A THOUGHT   To return to infancy: to be without speech. The threshold between Eden and Heaven. Ground and cloud. Hollowed out, each image will lose its definition bit by bit. An infant in Purgatory still covers her head with swaddling Or is it the sunlight lying on the floor? We try to domesticate our spirits like children. We chase and chastise them until they change. We spend our lives trying to release them again .
