y lluvia presentida

me pesa;

este aire denso y quieto,

que ni siquiera mueve

la hoja leve

del jazmín florecido,

me ahoga;

esta espera

de algo que no llega

me cansa.

Quisiera estar lejos,

donde nadie

me conociera:

nueva

como la yerba fresca,

ligera,

sin el peso

de los días muertos

y libre

ir por caminos ignorados

hacia un cielo abierto.

ONE DAY

This cloudy sky

with its hidden storm

and foreseen rain

weighs upon me;

this dense and still air,

that does not even move

the delicate leaf

of blooming jasmine,

it drowns me;

this wait

for something that does not come

fatigues me.

I want to be far away

where no one

knows me;

new

like fresh grass,

light,

without the weight

of dead days

and free

to go down unknown paths

towards an open sky.

A THOUGHT   To return to infancy: to be without speech. The threshold between Eden and Heaven. Ground and cloud. Hollowed out, each image will lose its definition bit by bit. An infant in Purgatory still covers her head with swaddling Or is it the sunlight lying on the floor? We try to domesticate our spirits like children. We chase and chastise them until they change. We spend our lives trying to release them again .
