LOS DELFINES

Los delfines no juegan en las olas

como la gente cree.

Los delfines se duermen bajando hasta el fondo del mar.

¿Qué buscan? No sé.

Cuando tocan el fin del agua

despiertan bruscamente

y vuelven a subir porque el mar es muy profundo

y cuando suben ¿qué buscan? No sé.

Y ven el cielo y les vuelve a dar sueño

y vuelven a bajar dormidos,

y vuelven a tocar el fondo del mar

y se despiertan y vuelven a subir.

Así son nuestros sueños.

THE DOLPHINS

Dolphins do not frolic in the waves

like people believe.

The dolphins sleep gliding down to the bottom of the sea.

What do they seek? I don’t know.

When they touch the water’s end

they suddenly wake up

and ascend once more because the sea is so deep

and when they ascend what do they seek? I don’t know.

And they see the sky and it makes them sleepy

and they fall asleep again

and they touch the bottom of the sea again

and awaken and ascend once more.

Just like our dreams.
